Flotation therapy is an immersive experience that allows you to feel complete weightlessness of body and mind. It's a place where gravity doesn't exist, the external world disappears, and incredible things can happen.

The float tank is a private, light and sound-proof pod that reduces external stimulus in order to reach new levels of relaxation, pain relief and meditation.

Filled with an Epsom Salt solution and 12 inches of warm water, your body stays effortlessly buoyant and safe. Kept at skin temperature, the touch of the water melts away, creating a zero-gravity sensory deprivation experience that heightens meditation and allows you to enter deep mental and physical relaxation.

"The experience is relaxing but for me it does take practice, this is my second float. I'm looking forward to my third float, I think I will be able to totally let go on the next time.
Lovely experience, it's been 5 hours since my float and as I am writing this I feel noticeable relaxed and energized there is very little tension in my body... it's like my body knows it's been treated beautifully and is thanking me for it.."

"Floating has allowed me to take time to focus on myself, ridding my mind of the clutter and gaining so much clarity. I felt so refreshed and recharged afterwards, I am amazed how much a float can make such a positive difference, I am blown away! Everything here is carefully thought out, Solace is a first class float centre and I highly recommend it."

"I had my first float last year. Never experienced anything quite like it. I have found that it took me a couple of floats to really get into it and experience the massive benefits.
I've now bought a year long membership to this centre and incorporate into my weekly routine.
I never sleep as well as I do after a session in the tank and have found I gain insights into both my business and personal life."

Do you have some questions? Find answers below!
How should I prepare for my float?
Please arrive 15min before your scheduled time. It's a good idea to have a light meal about 60-90 minutes before your float so that you aren't hungry or listening to your stomach gurgle. Otherwise, nothing else is needed.
What should I bring?
Aside from a hair brush and your contact lens case (if you wear them), we strongly suggest bringing an open mind and the desire to get lost within. We provide everything you need to get back to your day, including a shower, towels, shampoo, conditioner and refreshments.
What should I avoid before I float?
    • Make sure you haven't had any stimulants, such as coffee, beforehand as it may interfere with your ability to relax.
    • Don't shave or wax 24 hours before your float as the salt water may irritate your skin.
    • Avoid applying oils, such as moisturiser, hair gel or make up, prior to your float.
    When shouldn't I float?
There are a few occasions when floating isn't the best idea. These include:

    • If it's been less than two weeks since having gastroenteritis (or Bali Belly).
    • If you're pregnant and haven't discussed floating with your doctor.
    • Directly after shaving or waxing. Wait a couple of days.
    • If you are severely sunburnt.
    • If you've recently coloured your hair or applied fake tan.
    • If you have bright or fluro hair.
    • If you cannot remove your contact lenses.
    • If you have any open wounds.
    • If you're under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
    • If you have any skin or respiratory disorders.
    • If you suffer from incontinence.
    • If you are undergoing (or have recently undergone) chemotherapy.
    • If you have epilepsy or a serious mental condition.
    • If you're under the age of 18 without parental presence.

Please inform us of any conditions you may have for your own safety and the safety of other floaters. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time.
    Should I bring my swimmers?
No, as you'll be floating naked to enhance the sensory deprivation experience.
I've never floated before. What should I expect?
Before your first float, we'll set you up in our pre-float lounge with an orientation and information video that will tell you everything you need to know. But the short of it is: shower, float/relax/let the magic happen, shower, enjoy a complimentary drink in the lounge and continue on with your day or night.
What happens after my session is up?
Ten minutes before your session finishes, music will begin to signal that it's time to return to the real world.
I'm claustrophobic. Will I be okay in the tank?
Absolutely. The tank is large and wide, and you can easily open the door at any time to ground yourself. There are lights inside and air vents to keep you comfortable, and if you'd like, you're welcome to leave the door to the tank open while you float.
What happens if I fall asleep?
You'll most likely wake up feeling incredibly rested and rejuvenated. The buoyancy of the water means you won't sink, and there's not enough water to drown. If you sleep right through to the end, the music will wake you 10 minutes before the end of your session.
I'm pregnant. Is it okay to float?
Yes! Many pregnant women enjoy floating and say it helps them feel more connected to their baby. The zero-gravity environment also helps relieve the weight of the baby, giving your mind and body a well-deserved rest.
It's that time of the month. Is it still okay to float?
We recommend you take the same precautions as you would for a swimming pool.
    How hot is the water?
The water is kept at skin temperature (around 34.5C) in order to enhance the sensory deprivation experience. You'll feel like you're floating on air as the water melts into your skin barely knowing where you start and the water begins.
How do you clean the tanks?
The water in each tank is filtered through a dual one-micron filtration and sterilisation system four times after each float in order to ensure the water is pure for each guest. At 40% Epsom salt, there are no surviving pathogenic organisms in the water. We utilise a combination of H2O2and UV as it's a scientifically proven, best method for maintain the cleanliness of the water. This keeps the water soft, clean and crystal-clear. Additionally, a very small amount of hydrogen peroxide is used between each session in line with health department regulations.
How many float tanks do you have?
Right now we have four dedicated float rooms, so guests have complete privacy during their float. Soon we will open two extra rooms giving us a total of six allowing us to get more people floating!
How often should I float and for how long?
All of our floats are 90-minute sessions and it's up to you how often you'd like to come. Many studies show that regular floaters experience increased health benefits. Ideally, consistency is key, so find what works for you and your self-care schedule.
What are the benefits of floating?
How often do you feel content, relaxed and calm? Many people report feeling a greater sense of wellbeing when they incorporate regular floatation into their lifestyle.
And it makes sense from a theoretical perspective that floating would help improve your overall feeling of wellbeing. When you immerse yourself in sensory deprivation and isolate your brain from light and sound, the sympathetic nervous system (the part of our brain that keeps us alert and on guard) relaxes, allowing the parasympathetic nervous system (the part that helps us relax and be creative) take charge. This is where the magic happens, creating feelings of deep relaxation and calm, improving sleep, and encouraging the production of feel-good endorphins.

    Mental Health
Flotation therapy was introduced in the 1950s by a neuroscientist looking to investigate the effects of sensory deprivation on the human consciousness. Since then, studies have been performed looking at the effects of flotation therapy on mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety and PTSD, with promising results for regular floaters. Dopamine and other neurotransmitters are released during floatation, and studies show that the amygdala—the gland in the brain that initiates the fight or flight response—is reduced during floatation, helping to decrease stress and anxiety.
Flotation also helps individuals to reach deeper levels of meditation, relieve overactive minds, improve problem solving and increase creativity.

    Physical Health
Physical pain is one of the most visible signs that our bodies are not well. When was the last time that everyday tasks became more difficult because of a sore back, a pulled muscle or an inflamed joint? Flotation is a simple and effective way to help our bodies rest and recover from athletic activity and chronic pain, such as arthritis. When you float, your body reaches a state of near-weightlessness that relieves pressure from joints. Thanks to the high concentration of Epsom Salts, it's the ideal environment to help muscles relax and to improve blood circulation.
On top of that, a 90-minute float can help reset your circadian rhythm, helping you to sleep better and get over jetlag, which is vital to letting your body naturally repair itself. It's an excellent way to kickstart the healing process and get your body feeling good again.
